Warming nuts with induction?
“We can get them open like this!”
One of the most widespread misconceptions is that the only thing that matters when heating rusted threaded parts is the temperature. Of course, with the Alesco A800i/PLUS devices you benefit from the fact that the temperature cannot run away towards yellow heat, thus minimizing the risk of embrittlement. However, the actual effect depends much more on generating TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCES in a very short TIME.
In this respect, the two pictures hopefully raise two questions:
1.why should you heat this nut, it’s not the problem, the impact wrench will get it open at the latest
2. what is the rubber mallet for?
The answer becomes clear very quickly when you try it out in practice with the A800. We don’t heat the nut because of the nut itself (even if it then opens very easily…), but because at the speed of the treatment the right amount of heat is drawn very quickly along the bolt into the CONE OF THE BALL HEAD. And because it can then be loosened with the rubber mallet…
